The Summit of Cultural Institutions of Africa and Diaspora (SICADIA)
Gathered October 12-14 2016 in Maputo, Mozambique, African and Diaspora cultural institutions entrusted CERDOTOLA with organising their fifth summit as part of its 40th anniversary celebration events.
SICADIA’s mission is to foster collaboration between cultural institutions on the continent, to develop reflection and action in synergy, carry out their advocacy toward states and other target organisationsin matters of cultural strategies and policies: African Union, OIF, UN, Commonwealth, regional economic organisations, etc.
Accordingly, SICADIA will be the political component of the celebration. Thus it appeared adequate to enlarge the configuration and pool of participants and extend it with a meeting of Culture Ministers and a gathering of African customary rulers. SICADIA 2017 will thus comprise:
